How to play TOTO

This is a reading guide to the Singapore Pools official rules. Refer to the official TOTO Game Rules for the complete and binding version.

Draw result

Each draw produces six distinct main numbers from 1 to 49, followed by one Additional Number from the remaining 43 numbers. Together, the main numbers and Additional Number form the official result for that draw.

Matches and prize groups

At least three main numbers must be matched to qualify for a prize. Group 1: six main numbers; Group 2: five main numbers plus the Additional Number; Group 3: five main numbers; Group 4: four main numbers plus the Additional Number; Group 5: four main numbers; Group 6: three main numbers plus the Additional Number; Group 7: three main numbers.

The official rules state that Groups 1–4 are allocated according to the rules when there are multiple winners, while Groups 5–7 have fixed prizes. If there are no winners, some groups may roll over under the official rules; Group 1 has rollover-period and cascade-draw rules.

Official entry types

Official entry types include Ordinary, System Entry (System 7–12), System Roll, iTOTO, Group TOTO, and Quick Pick. The number of combinations, cost, winning-share calculation, and allocation can differ by entry type; refer to the official rules and ticket for the relevant draw.

Draws, tickets, and claims

Official TOTO draws are held on Mondays and Thursdays. Sales for a draw usually close at 18:00 on draw day, although the official deadline for a Cascade Draw may differ. A ticket states the entry type, number set, stake, draw date or number, and total amount; a valid ticket and the official result determine eligibility.

An Ordinary entry contains one set of six numbers. System 7–12 generates multiple Ordinary combinations from the selected numbers. System Roll consists of five fixed numbers and one rolling number representing the remaining numbers. The number of combinations affects total cost and can also result in multiple winning shares on one ticket.

Claims require a valid winning physical or electronic ticket and must be made within 180 days from the draw date. Official materials state that cash prizes up to S$5,000 can generally be claimed at retail outlets, with higher amounts handled through official channels. Sales normally close at 18:00 on regular draw days and may close at 21:00 for a Cascade Draw. Limits, timings, channels, and prize-payment details may change; always refer to the Singapore Pools rules, ticket, and official result for the relevant draw.
